A month of fun and growth (and lazy, busy parents)

It has been quite a month for Julia and her parents. First, we apologize for the delay in posts (is anyone still with us?) We have seen the temperature go from 72 degrees on January 7 (the picture above is from a hike we took that day) to 7 degrees at the end of the month!
In addition, Julia has grown quite a bit and experienced some of the great baby milestones this month. She has grown two teeth (we have a closeup picture of the first one, but it's a little gross.)She sits up with confidence now (though we do not have complete confidence yet - check out the pillow behind her in the photo.)
She has started to pull herself up to hands-and-knees, though right now her knees slip out just before she gets balanced and she slides back a few inches. The results look like an inchworm in reverse - in the course of a few minutes, she will back up across the entire living room! This has also made crib living tough on her- she wakes us up at least once a night screaming because she has turned around and gotten her legs stuck between the bars of the crib!

She has also widened her gastronomical palate. In addition to sweet potatoes and cereal, she now eats carrots, peas, green beans, avocado, squash, applesauce, bananas, prune juice, and crunchy cereal snacks. Sometimes all the variety tires Julia out so much that she falls right asleep during dinner! (Actually, this was at the end of a long, no-nap day- the avocado was just too much to handle that night)
We'll try to be more regular with posts for the next little bit. Hope everyone is well. We have also enabled comments on the blog. Feel free to check in and say hello - this is a good way for us to know who is still reading. Thanks!

This coming year will have more milestones than any other in Julia's childhood. I look forward to regular reports.

Good to see Julia's progress! Providence is proud of our girl. Backwards crawling! Who knows what'll be next? Backwards eating? (Actually, I think she's probably pretty good at that one too.)
